A referral is not required to access services from a psychologist in private practice.

However, some extended health benefit plans may require a referral from a physician in order to reimburse psychological services. Please check your extended health benefit plan.

Virtual therapy services are available to clients residing in British Columbia who are physically located in BC at the time of their appointments. 

Reaching out for support can feel like a big step, and it's completely normal to feel uncertain about where to begin. Therapy can be helpful when mental health challenges start to affect daily life — whether at school, at work, or within the family.

Dr. Quistberg offers complimentary 15-minute phone consultations to help you explore whether therapy may be a good fit for you or your child. She welcomes your questions and would be glad to discuss how she might best support you and your family.

Yes, Jordan’s Principle and Variety Club BC Grants are available. Please see below for more information. 

Jordan’s Principle: Jordan’s Principle provides funding and support to help First Nations children in Canada access needed health, social, and educational services in a timely manner.  Funding may be available for services such as therapy and psychoeducational assessments. Variety Club BC Grants: Families with a household income of up to $85,000 may qualify for financial assistance to help cover the cost of psychological services including therapy and assessment. 

Dr. Quistberg does not bill directly to third party insurance companies (e.g., Pacific Blue Cross). Upon payment, Dr. Quistberg provides an invoice that includes all necessary information for clients to submit to their insurance provider for reimbursement.  

Dr. Quistberg accepts payment from Autism Funding and specialized school support programs. Please contact Dr. Quistberg for more information.

If you need to cancel or change your therapy appointment, please email within 48 hours to avoid a session charge. 

If you are need to cancel your assessment appointments (not including feedback meetings), one weeks’ notice is required. A $500 retainer deposit is required to hold an assessment booking slot which is fully refundable if the assessment is cancelled a week or more prior to the assessment.
